Summary
The Oncology nurse provides specialized comprehensive and holistic primary nursing services to oncology patients and their significant others utilizing the professional practice standards established by the Oncology Nursing Society and the American Nurses' Association. Effective communication skills are required. The nurse must be able to institute life saving measures.
Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.

Minimum Work Experience
2 years general nursing experience required; Oncology nursing experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed in the State of Vermont.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Unit-specific certifications as required (Oncology, Chemotherapy, Radiation, etc) per specific department operational framework.
- Certification in venous access techniques or willingness to obtain.

- Demonstrates working knowledge of Oncology equipment.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of infection control, utilizes aseptic technique and universal precautions 100% of the time.
- Demonstrates safe knowledgeable nursing practice skills at all times based on theory and consistent with policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates patient education skills.
- Demonstrates moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Pay Range
$36.50 - $61.75
