About This Role

Exciting opportunity to join Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, where you’ll experience world-class healthcare. As a proud Magnet Hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Avon Hospital leads with exceptional patient care. This unit, part of the 5th Floor Complex Medical Care unit, delivers perioperative and postoperative care to medical-surgical and orthopaedic patients. Telemetry monitoring ensures continuous cardiac observation for non-ICU adult patients.

As an RN in this Flex Weekender schedule, you’ll assist during Medical-Surgical and Orthopaedic recovery phases, working two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one during the week (typically 36 hours, paid like 44). This allows personal time to balance work with other commitments.


Key Responsibilities

The ideal RN will:

  • Provide direct patient care with excellence
  • Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and revise patient care plans
  • Monitor and document patient conditions via telemetry and ongoing assessments
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Review and follow physician/Healthcare provider orders
  • Ensure safety, education, and discharge readiness for patients
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to improve outcomes

Minimum Requirements

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role is a Medium Work position, which includes:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Manual exertion of 10-25 pounds frequently
  • Minimum of standing, walking, and walking/standing for extended periods
  • Manual and finger dexterity for assessing patients
  • Working with stressful conditions, irregular schedules, and shifting priorities
  • Exposure to communicable diseases/body fluids
