DP World Road Freight Operations Specialist (International)

DP World, the fast-growing transportation and logistics leader that currently manages more than 10% of world trade, is seeking an experienced Road Freight Operations Specialist (International) to join our growing Freight Forwarding office in Bucharest, Romania.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conducting market research to identify optimal operational transport solutions while ensuring high service quality.
  • Initiating contact with transport partners and accessing transport exchanges to negotiate the most advantageous solutions, including routes, transport channels, cargo loading plans, and pricing.
  • Verifying that transport operations commence only upon receipt of a complete and valid transport order from the shipper, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
  • Reviewing documentation received from carriers to confirm alignment with the agreed terms and parameters outlined in the transport order.
  • Managing, monitoring, and fulfilling transport orders, ensuring the successful execution of services.
  • Recording all essential customer and transporter information in the TMS system (including addresses, contact details, dimensions, weights, company names, and locations).
  • Verifying the accuracy of documents received from transporters.
  • Cultivating and sustaining positive working relationships with the company's clients and transport partners.

Your Profile:

  • Between 3 and 5 years of professional experience in road freight forwarding (international import and export, groupage, LTL and FTL).
  • Proficiency in domestic and international geography, including knowledge of countries and major cities.
  • Solid understanding of the transport and logistics industry (including cost-per-km calculations, types of pallets, clear distinction between actual and chargeable weight, insight into rate fluctuations and the factors influencing them, good knowledge of the various types of transport vehicles and their specific uses).
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite, as well as Transport Management Systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to proactively anticipate and resolve issues and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Strong ability to calculate freight measurements, weight, and convert them into international units.
  • Full professional working proficiency in the English and Romanian languages.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to maintain high productivity levels while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Client-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
  • Adept at identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions.
