It's more than a job

As a Customs Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, your job is to optimise logistics to keep our global supply chains running smoothly. But the impact of your work goes beyond that. In fact, your expertise makes both special and ordinary moments possible for people around the world. For example, your work could ensure that a global product launch happens on time—such as ethically sourced beauty and bath products stocked at local stores for your loved one's valued self-care routine. It's import and export work, but it's also so much more than we imagine.

Working within the Control Tower team

You will play a pivotal role in defining and working with customs and operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), operating within strict lead times and service level agreements.

You will be responsible for identifying, managing and resolving issues that could disrupt the smooth movement of shipments from Europe into the UK for our prestigious automotive Customer. The role requires close coordination between Vendors, European Warehouse Hubs and the Control Tower operational team to minimise delays and maintain Customs Compliance.

How you create impact

  • Proactively identify issues, risks and potential service failures before they impact customer lead times.
  • Investigate and resolve customs issues, including incomplete or incorrect documentation.
  • Liaising with Customer & Vendors to expedite the movement of shipments through the supply chain.
  • Manage exceptions related to MRN, EAD, GVMS references, Safety & Security Declarations, missing commercial invoices, incorrect commodity codes, Transit (T1/T2) documents, & movements.
  • Support recovery plans for delayed or held consignments and escalate critical operational issues to management in line with SLAs.
  • Work closely with Transport Planners & Control Tower Teams to minimise disruption to onward UK deliveries. Immediate escalations to management and relevant stakeholders on exception status.
  • Ensure all import activities comply with UK Customs regulations, customer requirements and internal procedures as well as strict adherence to operational processes.
  • Analyse reoccurring exceptions and identify root causes and corrective actions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
