Roadside Assist Mechanic – The AA
About the Role

- Guaranteed year 1 earnings of £36,685 (inclusive of allowances), with OTE up to £47,000 based on top performers.
- Shifts: As a patrol, you’ll work an average of 40-hour week, with a variety of shift pattern options to choose from. Enjoy flexibility in scheduling—tailor your rest days, shift lengths, and hours to suit your personal and professional needs.

You’ll be their friendly face—the superhero ready to handle any situation, anywhere, anytime, and in any weather. Your actions restore confidence in drivers today—and for the future.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Work on your driveway: Start and finish on-site, paid from the moment you step into your van until you arrive home.
- Independent but supported: Operate across varied locations and conditions while remaining an essential part of a supportive team.
- Customer-focused technical solutions: Use your technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Problem-solving on the spot: Apply your technical skills and calm approach to resolve a wide range of roadside situations.

What Do You Need?
The following are essential requirements for this role:
- NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
- A full category B driving licence, with 6 points or fewer.
- Confidence with new technology—we’ll provide the tools, but you must bring curiosity to adapt.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, as breakdowns don’t operate on a 9-to-5 schedule.
