- Start and finish your day on your driveway—paid from the moment you step into your van to the moment you get home.
- Work independently across diverse locations and conditions, while remaining a valued member of a supportive, collaborative team.
- Leverage your technical expertise and clear communication to deliver exceptional customer service and solve on-the-spot challenges.
- Deploy your problem-solving skills, calm demeanour, and technical proficiency to handle anything from minor breakdowns to tough weather-related issues.
You’re more than a mechanic—you’re the friendly face of The AA, the superhero moments are short but impactful.

What Do You Need?
To excel as a Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll require:
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- A full Category B (car) driving licence with 6 points or fewer.
- Confidence in adapting to new technology—curiosity and ongoing learning will be provided by us; the tools will be issued, but your adaptability is key.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays—because breakdowns don’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule!
