AA: Roadside Rescue Mechanic – Apply & Start Driving Towards Easier Earns

About the Role

Our commitment to you:

  • Guaranteed year 1 earnings of £40,387 (inclusive of location allowance) with On-Target Earnings (OTE) up to £60,000 for top performers.
  • Flexible shifts: Work an average of 40-hour weeks, choosing a schedule that suits your needs. Number of rest days and shift lengths vary based on your selected pattern.

As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll be the friendly face of UK’s largest motoring organisation—our superheroes—always ready for anything to get drivers back on the road safely, no matter the weather or time of day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Start and finish work from your driveway—paid from the moment you drive into your van until you return home.
  • Operate independently across varied locations and conditions while being a valued, supported team member.
  • Apply your technical expertise for positive customer experiences.
  • Solve problems on the spot, combining technical skills and calmness to handle diverse roadside scenarios.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent qualifications with relevant experience).
  • Full Category B driving licence (valid for 6 points or less).
  • Enthusiasm for technology (we’ll provide the tools; you bring curiosity and adaptability).

  • Commitment to shift work, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays (since breakdowns happen anytime, anywhere).
