- Guaranteed year 1 earnings of £43,976 inclusive of allowances, with OTE up to £60,000 based on top performers.
- Shifts: As a patrol, you will work an average of 40-hour week across flexible shift patterns tailored to your personal and professional needs.
- Varied rest days annually + adjustable shift lengths.
- You’ll start and finish on your driveway, paid from entering your van to returning home.
What Will You Be Doing?
As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll deliver exceptional service as the "friendly face" of The AA, the UK’s largest motoring organisation. You’ll be the vital link that gets drivers back on the road safely—any time, anywhere, in any weather.
- Work independently across diverse locations and conditions while maintaining a supportive team presence.
- Apply technical expertise and clear communication to deliver a positive customer experience.
- Use your problem-solving skills and calm approach to resolve roadside issues efficiently.

What Do You Need?
To excel in this crucial role, you’ll require:
- A level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent with comparable experience.
- An enthalpy B (car licence), with 6 points or fewer on your licence.
- Technological adaptability—you’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
- Shift pattern flexibility, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays (breakdowns don’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule).
