About the Role
As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation. Whether it’s minutes or months in the wilds of the Trans-Siberian Highway, you’re the AA’s superhero. Ready for anything, you’ll be there for members anytime, anywhere, ensuring they get back on the road safely.
We’re not just fixing cars—we’re returning confidence to drivers for today and tomorrow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Tend to your engine—or divan—from the driveway. You earn as soon as you start the van and return home.
- Work independently across varied locations and conditions while staying connected to a supportive team.
- Apply technical expertise and clear communication to create positive customer experiences.
- Adapt to new tools with confidence—your curiosity gets the gear, we’ll provide the tools.
- Solve live problems with a blend of technical skills and a calm, crisis-taming approach, handling anything from roadside issues to midnight pothole repairs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
