The Role
As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation. You’re the superhero our members turn to in their time of need—ready for anything, anytime, anywhere. Our mission? To get everyone safely back on the road so life goes on.
Your day-to-day:
- Work independently across varied locations and conditions while being part of a supportive team
- Solve problems on the spot, combining technical skills and a calm approach to handle breakdowns
- Deliver outstanding customer service with clear communication and expertise
- Forging confidence in drivers—good today, better tomorrow

What Will I Be Doing?
✔ Starting and finishing on your driveway—paid hourly from leaving home to returning home ✔ Working independently but as part of a supportive crew ✔ Using technical knowledge to resolve roadside issues quickly and efficiently ✔ Providing a positive, reassuring experience for breakdown callers
What Do I Need?
Essential Requirements
✅ NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent with applicable experience) ✅ Full Category B driving licence (UK) with 6 or fewer points ✅ Confidence adapting to new technology—we’ll provide the tools; you’ll bring the curiosity ✅ Availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays (breakdowns don’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule).
