Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician
Join the team that keeps the UK moving. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience, you’ll receive:
- A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £61,000, with top performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates
- Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available
- Start and finish on your driveway
Where you’ll work
You’ll be part of the Exeter cluster, covering areas like:
- Exeter
- Exmouth
- Sidmouth
- Honiton
- Tiverton
- Newton Abbot
- Torquay
- Paignton
- Dawlish
You’ll focus solely on helping members in your local area, without commuting to a central depot or office – start and finish every shift from home.
What you’ll need
- A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
- A customer-focused approach – delivering outstanding service every call-out
- A full UK driving licence
What you’ll do
As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll provide fast, reliable solutions for issues like malfunctions, flat batteries, tyre replacements – everything from simple fixes to complex fault-finding. Every job is uniquely rewarding, blending technical skill with empathy to ensure members are back on the road with confidence and peace of mind.
