Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician

Join the team that keeps the UK moving. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' experience, you’ll receive:

  • A market-competitive base salary of £41,600 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable) and a realistic OTE of £66,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
  • Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime available.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be part of the Slough cluster, covering areas such as Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, and Gerrards Cross.

We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What You’ll Need

  • A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent), with at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
  • A customer-focused approach
  • A full UK driving licence

About the Role

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver:

  • Expert mechanical roadside repair
  • Vehicle diagnostics
  • Emergency breakdown support across the UK
  • Quick, confident solutions and reassurance when members need it most.
