We’re recruiting Roaming Chefs to join our dynamic support team and bring their expertise to stunning pubs in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, and Surrey as part of Upham Inns, a fast-growing premium pub and inn group.
The Role in Detail
Your mission will be to partner with General Managers, lead and mentor teams across multiple venues, and ensure our Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Operations standards are consistently delivered.
- You’ll need your own transport (mileage reimbursed).
- Work flexibly around different schedules.
- Be the go-to resource during busy periods, holidays, or new openings.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply & Support Across Venues
- Lead, mentor, and operate within Back of House and Housekeeping teams
- Maintain high standards of food, service, cleanliness, and safety in every pub
- Partner with General Managers on commercial performance, profit & loss, and operational excellence
- Align current teams to soar—balancing people, performance, profit, safety, and guest satisfaction

What You’ll Bring
- Hospitality Leadership: Experience in a similar role (preferably within restaurant, kitchen, or premium pubs ins).
- Strategic Knowledge: Deep understanding of restaurant operations, stock management, and recruitment (rotas, OH&S compliance, P&L).
- People Management: Proven track record mentoring and driving highly-performing teams.
- Drive & Confidence: Able to spot opportunities, troubleshoot problems, and thrive under pressure.
- Clear Communication: Motivate and maintain teams, even in fast-paced periods.
- UK Legal Status: Must legally work in the UK
