Humanoid – Build Technician (Assembly & Bringup) – September 2026
Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re taking our vision to life with HMND-01 Alpha—our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots—and we need passionate individuals to help us push further.
About the Role
Humanoid is the world’s first UK AI and robotics company, dedicated to creating advanced, reliable, commercially scalable, and safe humanoid robots. Our first model, HMND 01—a next-generation labour automation unit—delivers high-efficiency solutions for industrial applications.
This role combines electromechanical assembly, bringup, and highly technical troubleshooting in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be at the forefront of building, testing, and refining our flagship hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly (Hardware Fabrication)
- Build electro-mechanical assemblies following CAD drawings and detailed work instructions.
- Perform precision component placement using:
- Standard hand tools (e.g., torquing wrenches, crimp tools)
- Adhesive applicators for sealing and bonding
- Labellers for accurate part tracking
- Route and label complex harnesses according to specifications, ensuring secure terminations.
- Apply and record serial numbers on all tracked assets for inventory control.
Bringup & Testing (Hardware Verification)
- Configure and test sensors, actuators, and communication systems using:
- Command-line tooling (Python, Bash scripting)
- Electronics test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- Diagnose faults in:
- PCB wiring, surface-mount/soldered connections
- Embedded compute systems
- Execute and monitor validation scripts for unit-level testing.
- Version-control and assemble code from Git/GitLab/GitHub.
- Build and mount computing hardware using ESD-safe techniques.
- Repair/rework/modernise through-hole and surface-mount PCBs.
- Construct and repair electrical harnesses (crimping, labeling).
- Test assemblies with fixtures, test jigs, and compute devices.
- Document test results, issues, and resolutions for continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
