We're currently recruiting for a Test Technician to join a leading rolling stock project based at Craigentinny. This is an excellent opportunity to work on modern fleets, supporting Electrical maintenance and overhaul, fault finding and system testing within a high-performing depot environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for ensuring rolling stock systems perform to specification, carrying out Electrical fault diagnosis, repair, modifications and testing in line with engineering procedures. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical capability across Electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, fault find and repair onboard systems
- Undertake planned & reactive maintenance activities
- Install and replace components using approved processes
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Complete software updates and system modifications
- Record all work accurately within SAP
- Identify repeat faults and support reliability improvements
- Maintain high safety, quality and environmental standards

What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (Electrical Engineering) or HNC or Apprenticeship (Electrical Engineering)
- Experience in rolling stock fault finding and maintenance is preferred
- Strong understanding of depot safety and procedures
- Competence in tools, crimping, and maintenance processes
- Team player with excellent communication skills
