The Role
The Roofing Labourer is a full-time, on-site position based in Irvine, working closely with roofers and supervisors. This is a hands-on role requiring physical exertion, attention to safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with:
- Roof replacement and repairs
- Installation of flat roofing systems
- Guttering, fascias, soffits, Velux windows, and basic leadwork (under supervision)
- Prepare and load materials for jobs
- Operate hand and power tools safely (e.g., hammers, drills, saws)
- Perform site preparation, cleanup, and waste removal
- Maintain a tidy, hazard-free workspace
- Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to:
- Follow technical instructions
- Adhere to safety regulations
- Ensure projects meet company standards and client expectations

Requirements
Practical Skills & Qualifications
- Practical experience assisting in:
- Tiled and slated roof work
- Flat roof installations
- Guttering and basic repairs
- Ability to:
- Use common construction tools safely
- Take measurements
- Perform basic manual tasks
- Strong understanding of health and safety, particularly:
- Working at height
- Ladder safety
- Manual handling
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) use
