Roofing Labourer – Full-Time (On-Site), Irvine

The Role

The Roofing Labourer is a full-time, on-site position based in Irvine, working closely with roofers and supervisors. This is a hands-on role requiring physical exertion, attention to safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with:
    • Roof replacement and repairs
    • Installation of flat roofing systems
    • Guttering, fascias, soffits, Velux windows, and basic leadwork (under supervision)
  • Prepare and load materials for jobs
  • Operate hand and power tools safely (e.g., hammers, drills, saws)
  • Perform site preparation, cleanup, and waste removal
  • Maintain a tidy, hazard-free workspace
  • Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to:
    • Follow technical instructions
    • Adhere to safety regulations
    • Ensure projects meet company standards and client expectations

Requirements

Practical Skills & Qualifications

  • Practical experience assisting in:
    • Tiled and slated roof work
    • Flat roof installations
    • Guttering and basic repairs

    • Take measurements
    • Perform basic manual tasks
  • Strong understanding of health and safety, particularly:
    • Working at height
    • Ladder safety
    • Manual handling
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) use

    • Valid driver’s licence

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in roofing, construction, or a related trade is advantageous
