Job Description

Scope of Position

As a House Porter / Room Attendant, your role is to uphold Raffles’ stunning standards by impeccably cleaning and maintaining assigned guest rooms and corridors while ensuring seamless guest experiences. Collaboration with the House Porter team will be key to providing bedsides with premium supplies and utensils that exceed expectations. You’ll embody Raffles’ Values through polished interactions with guests, team members, and colleagues, embodying the essence: Luxury with heart.


Responsibilities

Cleaning & Maintaining Guest Satisfaction

  • Execute timely room cleaning based on guest preferences while efficiently prepping for arrivals.
  • Oversee maintenance of cleaning equipment (linen, furniture, fixtures, tools) to complete 5-star standards across all rooms and corridors.
  • Strengthen guest satisfaction by ensuring immaculate Linens, Quality Assurance (LQA) compliance, and superior service.
    • Follow expanded guidelines for surface disinfection using approved chemicals.
    • Provide an intuitive bedside tray & amenity service to anticipated needs.
  • Promptly report damages, losses, and malfunctions (linen tears, faulty bulbs, breaches in equipment) to the supervisor.
  • Manage lost property securely—follow the Raffles Lost & Found Policy for misplaced items.

  • Engage in daily departmental meetings to align priorities.
  • Identify and delegate additional duties (or temporary cross-department shifts) if a manager or EVP is absent.

  • Literate, articulate communication—mastering both written and verbal interactions in multi-cultural/lingual settings.
  • Adaptable—manage dynamic schedules, multi-task under deadlines, and remain visibly professional while balancing efficiency.

  • Luxury-baseline experience: Previous experience in LQA-tested or 5-star Forbes hotels (or equivalent).
  • Proactive flexibility—comfortable with ad-hoc shifts or supporting high-volume days (events, conferences).
