Room Attendant – Charge Hand / Shift Lead

Rate of Pay / Hours: £13.01 per hour (20 hours per week)

Type of Contract: Permanent

Location: Malmaison Cheltenham

About the Role

Working as part of the Housekeeping team, you will ensure all guest bedrooms within the hotel are cleaned daily to the highest standards. Your eye for detail and natural high standards will make a difference in ensuring Malmaison guests experience a perfect night’s stay.

Malmaison offers a range of luxury and boutique hotels in 15 landmark locations across the UK. Known for style, hospitality, and exquisite accommodation, the brand provides a relaxing atmosphere along with sumptuous food and wine in its Chez Mal Brasseries.

As a Room Attendant, you’ll interact with guests, so a strong conversational English ability—along with the ability to work independently for extended periods—is essential. This role is vital for maintaining impeccably clean and tidy bedrooms for guests from arrival through their stay.

About Your Working Patterns

You will work set shifts, primarily between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, five days a week. Shift start times are typically between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, but alternate start times or weekend only roles can be flexible upon discussion during your interview.

Physical & Training Requirements

This role demands physical fitness, as it involves hard work in order to maintain high standards. Full training in the use of chemicals and equipment will be provided, but prior experience in similar cleaning roles is not essential.

Essential traits: A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to delivering exceptional guest experiences are crucial.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
