Room Leader

Nursery – Bright Horizons Swanscombe

Salary & Location

  • Salary: £31,241 - £37,128 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Location: Swanscombe

The Role: Room Leader (Baby Room)

As a Room Leader, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team to deliver exceptional care and education
  • Help every child in your care develop and thrive, meeting their individual milestones
  • Promote child welfare, health, safety, and safeguarding compliance
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with colleagues, parents, and professionals to meet each child’s unique needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and development-focused learning environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a baby room and ensure consistency in high-quality teaching and development
  • Personally manage key safeguarding activities, including applying legislation and protecting vulnerable children
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure children’s needs are supported
  • Maintain accurate records and follow all statutory and organisational policies
  • Drive quality improvements and team performance

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications:

    • Full and relevant Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience in a pre-school, day nursery, or childcare setting, preferably as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Practitioner, or Early Years Educator
  • Skills & Passions:

    • Enthusiasm for creating engaging, fun, and inclusive learning environments
    • Clear understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
    • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection policies, and educational legislation relevant to childcare
    • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with colleagues, parents/guardians, and children
