SALARY: £35,031.40 per annum (pro rata)
HOURS: 39hrs per week, 4 on 4 off, 06:00 – 17:30. 6 month Fixed Term Contract.
LOCATION: Hartcliffe
Purpose Of The Role
To drive/operate roll-on-off and other specialist vehicles, fixed/mobile plant and equipment.
To assist in other general site operations, to carry out daily maintenance of vehicles, mobile plant and equipment and to perform general housekeeping duties at Refuse Transfer Stations and Household Refuse Recycling Centres (HRRC).
Key Responsibilities
Drive specialist HGV Class 2 vehicles. Operate wheeled loading shovel and other plant and equipment Carry out daily inspections / maintenance of vehicles / mobile plant and other equipment carrying out adjustments as required. Carry out general housekeeping of site grounds and buildings. Actively participate in full range of recycling activities / initiatives. Act as a Household Refuse Recycling Centre Attendant.

Essential Requirements For The Role
HGV class 2 licence Current CPC Ability to gain CITB Certification or equivalent on Wheeled Loading Shovel Basic literacy and numeracy skills Ability to drive / operate a range of vehicles, fixed / mobile plant and equipment Prepared to work outside of normal hours to maintain the service Must be flexible and adaptable to change roles to meet operational requirements Good team member Good communication skills when dealing with problems
Special Conditions
There may be a requirement to work at other Bristol Waste Company locations/service areas Required to work weekends and bank holidays (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day) Expected to work reasonable overtime in line with the needs of the service
