Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced administrator to support our maternity teams. The post holder will provide essential administrative support for the day-to-day management of maternity rosters and elective caesarean section (ELCS) pathways. You will be a key point of contact for routine rota and elective CS administration, the role supports safe staffing and effective patient pathways through accurate data management, coordination, and communication.
The post holder will undertake operational administrative tasks including:
- Recording sickness
- Finalising shifts
- Maintaining roster accuracy
- Supporting the booking and management of elective caesarean lists

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide essential administrative support for the day-to-day management of maternity rosters and elective caesarean section (ELCS) pathways. Acting as a key point of contact for routine rota and elective CS administration, the role supports safe staffing and effective patient pathways through accurate data management, coordination, and communication.
The post holder will undertake operational administrative tasks including recording sickness, finalising shifts, maintaining roster accuracy, and supporting the booking and management of elective caesarean lists. The post holder is not responsible for strategic staffing decisions and will escalate concerns, risks, and unresolved issues to the Rota Coordinator, Workforce Systems Officer, Band 7 Team Leads, or Senior Leadership Team as appropriate.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Vocational Level 4 or Higher National Diploma Qualification or equivalent experience
- Knowledge/understanding of a range of administrative procedures requiring ongoing job training and experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Medical Staffing Rosters
- Evidence of further development
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Experience in meeting operational objectives
- Ability to liaise with Maternity staff confidently and with credibility
Desirable criteria
- Awareness of hospital practices
- Experience of coordinating staff rota
- Previous experience in NHS
