Rotating Intern
Rotating Internship Opportunity at Bristol Vet Specialists
We are now advertising for four rotating interns to join our current rotating intern group of four at Bristol Vet Specialists, starting on 4th January 2027.
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals, with at least 12 months of experience working in general practice in the UK, committed to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care that would relish the opportunity to further their career, improve their knowledge base and technical skills.
This will be a 12-month position at our hospital, where you will spend time rotating through our specialist led services, learning on the job and having fun whilst doing it! These positions can be your first rung on the ladder to obtaining a residency, but they are also a great experience as a building platform for veterinary surgeons who see their future in general practice, research or pharmaceuticals.
Who are we?
Bristol Vet Specialists (BVS) is a specialist led, referral only hospital, which is located on the outskirts of Bristol, near the M5. We offer a full complement of specialist led services, which include anaesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. Based at our brand-new state-of-the-art purpose-built hospital, with 11 canine consult rooms, a separate feline centre, MRI, CT, 5 theatres, ICU and an incredible team of referral nurses and support staff. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
