Clinical Pharmacist Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated clinical pharmacist to join our pharmacy team at Band 6 or Band 7 level, depending on experience. Applicants appointed at Band 6 will be supported through a structured competency-based development programme with planned progression to Band 7.

Key Features of the Post

  • Gain broad specialist experience through rotational placements across multiple areas of the pharmacy service, including clinical pharmacy, aseptic services, and clinical trials.
  • Develop specialist cancer skills within a leading specialist cancer centre.
  • Support modern models of cancer care through expanding pharmacist-led prescribing services.

About The Christie Pharmacy Department

  • A progressive and innovative service with strong links to the University of Manchester and a growing portfolio of collaborative research projects.
  • Committed to staff development, with opportunities for postgraduate education, research involvement, and secondments.
  • Clinical pharmacists play an increasingly advanced clinical role, with many practising as independent prescribers within outpatient clinics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy, medicines preparation, and supply service to patients, ensuring a safe, effective, timely, and efficient use of medicines.
  • Provide pharmacist support and professional supervision to all areas of the pharmacy service.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the preparation of aseptically-prepared medicines, including the ability to act as the Accountable Pharmacist in Aseptic Services in the absence of the Aseptic Services Manager and their deputy.
  • Effectively contribute to departmental Quality Systems. Ensure safe systems of work are maintained as defined under statutory legislation and Professional Standards.
  • Support the provision of research and clinical trials. Contribute specialist knowledge into the research and evaluation of new products, equipment, devices, and methods of work, including clinical trials, analysing, and interpreting the requirements for service developments within the Aseptic Services Unit.
  • Provide medicines-related education and training support to patients, nursing, medical, and other multidisciplinary staff.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
