Rotational Dietitian
Rotational Band 5 Dietitian
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust
This post would suit either student dietitians or experienced Band 5 dietitians. There is an option to start as a Band 3–4 whilst awaiting HCPC registration.
About the Role
Rotational dietitians (Band 5) work across acute and community dietetic teams. Rotations offer experience in diverse specialties, including:
- Community rotations (home visits, community hospitals)
- Oncology
- Gastroenterology
- Paediatrics
- Renal
- Major trauma
Whether as a student or experienced practitioner, you’ll support the multi-disciplinary team (doctors, nurses, caterers, therapists) to deliver dietetic care to patients.
The role includes:
- Developing staff teaching and student training
- Supporting team audit and service developments

Key Responsibilities
To provide a high-quality dietetic service, including:
- Delivering care to inpatients and outpatients at Derriford Hospital & Community sites
- Maintaining accurate patient records under supervision
Workshop participation:
- Training for healthcare professionals
- Trust-wide dietetic service contributions
Preference & Considerations
Priority will be given to: ✔ Internal staff (colleagues within the Trust) ✔ ‘Priority’ or ‘At Risk’ status (including NHS At Risk staff in Devon) ✔ Candidates with recent, relevant experience as per the Person Specification
