Our client, who are a market leader in their industry, are looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive individual to join their team as a Route Planner & Warehouse Supervisor.

To be considered for an interview, please make sure your application is in line with the job specs found below.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the operation runs smoothly and have a strong understanding of Logistics and Freight Forwarding.

Due to the nature of the business, strong administration skills and great organisation skills are paramount for this role. You will also be the main point of contact for customers and your team; therefore, you need to be at ease communicating on all levels.

Responsibilities Include

  • Coordinating daily transport jobs
  • Raising and managing the relevant paperwork
  • Planning of driver routes and managing and tracking all shipments

You would also be the ‘go to’ person who keeps drivers, customers, and internal teams connected, ensuring the day-to-day activities and operations run effortlessly and smoothly, even during last-minute requests that could be complex and require great attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Routing and resource planning, ensuring routes are cost-effective and assign drivers and vans accordingly.
  • Preparation of all documents for each delivery, which will vary from route to route, some being complex. Other administrative tasks include invoicing using the internal system and creating all relevant paperwork.
  • Tracking and monitoring of drivers and being able to update customers with accurate ETAs, using the in-house tracking system and also external courier tracking systems.

Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of Logistics and Freight Forwarding
  • Highly organised and detail-orientated in all areas
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
  • Thrive in high-pressure environments
  • Flexible attitude, assist with loading, unloading of vehicles when required

Desirable But Not Essential Skills

  • ADR Training
  • Forklift Trained
  • Experience with loading lorries & vans
  • Understanding vehicle sizes & payloads
