We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Roving Veterinary Nurse to join IVC, working on a full-time basis across a number of our practices in the South East. This is a fixed-term contract expected to last 12 months. The role focuses on flexibly delivering high-quality general nursing care and ensuring our teams are fully supported during busy periods, staff absence, or increased clinical demand. Working across multiple practices brings both variety and reward, with each site offering its own team, caseload, and way of working. This makes the role well-suited to a confident and adaptable nurse who enjoys meeting new people, integrating quickly into different environments, and contributing positively wherever they are based. Reporting to the Area Director, the role covers a designated region from Buckinghamshire to High Wycombe, with occasional travel to Watford and some flexibility based on operational requirements and commuting capacity. To support regional travel, a monthly car allowance of £375 is included. How You’ll Make a Difference As a Roving Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider inspiring vet care team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care across our practices. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days per week at your preference. The role doesn’t have any regular weekend or OOHs work, but may include occasional weekend or bank holiday cover if needed, which would be compensated with TOIL. General responsibilities include: *Admit and discharge patients for routine procedures and deliver outstanding nursing care at all times. *Run nurse clinics and provide accurate advice to clients on preventative healthcare, products, and practice policies. *Assist veterinary surgeons with surgical procedures, anaesthetic monitoring, diagnostics, laboratory work, imaging, and inpatient care. *Maintain accurate patient and client records, dispense repeat prescriptions, and support reception duties when required. *Ensure all SOPs, Health & Safety regulations, and infection control procedures are followed across all nursing duties. *Maintain high standards of cleanliness, equipment care, stock control, and clinical waste disposal throughout the practice. *Support and train Student Veterinary Nurses and carry out Schedule Three procedures where appropriately trained and registered. *Participate in rota commitments, stock takes, appraisals, and general practice support duties as required.
