PFD is seeking a Royalties Assistant to join its dynamic Royalties team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of global royalty payments for authors while working at one of London’s most prestigious literary agencies.


Location: Central London. Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote (optional). Salary: £28,000 Closing date: 31 July 2026

The Royalties Team manages payments—guaranteeing accuracy, timing, and administrative support—from publishers worldwide to ensure fair remuneration for authors and partners.


🔍 About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Royalties, the Royalties Assistant will provide essential support across financial processing, contract interpretation, and global communications, ensuring authors and collaborators are smoothed through the publication lifecycle.

✅ Key Responsibilities

Financial & Contract administratIon

  • Input, verify, and maintain author/contract records in PFD’s Bradbury Phillips [BP] rights management system.
  • Recommendatory dealer of publisher royalty statements for accuracy.
  • Extract and prepare data from statements for BP loading.
  • Execute bank and data reconciliations to spot discrepancies.

Author & Partner Relations

  • Distribute payment advices to authors and agent offices globally.
  • Assist with tax returns and supporting documentation.
  • Handle attention-to-detail user queries with professionalism and promptness.

Reporting, Analysis & Support

  • Generate customised reporting from BP to inform management and agents.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as needed by the team.

📏 About You

PFD is seeking an organised, precise, and confident communicator with:

  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, V-lookups*—grad entry test applicable*).
  • A fluent numeracy base and data operations experience.
  • Ideally, some sector knowledge in publishing, accounting, or Royalties Systems (Bradbury Phillips or similar).
  • Flexibility, compassion, and international awareness (directing or simplifying across borders when necessary).
