About the Role
We are seeking an experienced RPG Developer to join a small development team in Leeds, working on a large customer application pivotal to the distribution sector. This is a critical role focused on:

- Developing and maintaining key customer-facing applications
- Supporting ongoing in-house development needs
- Actively contributing to innovation strategy as part of an experienced development team
This is not just a technical role—you’ll be shaping requirements, building effective client relationships, and working autonomously while ensuring smooth software delivery.
Requirements
Core Skills & Experience
We require an exceptionally proficient RPG Developer with:
- Strong RPG/ILE programming experience
- Proficiency with:
- SQL
- CLP
- IBM i/OS (previously AS/400)
- Query/400 and Dynamic File Update (DFU)
- Experience in software liaison and client relationship management

Preferences
- Familiarity working in an IDE such as:
- VS Code
- Rational Developer for IBM i (RDI)
Key Responsibilities
- Working proactively with customers, shaping system specifications and requirements
- Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical business applications
- Ensuring high-quality software releases and ongoing maintenance
- Collaborating in innovation efforts to enhance the team’s technical capabilities
