ERP Developer (RPG Programmer)

HRM Search Partners are currently hiring two contractors for this role.

The position requires a talented, self-starter to join the IT team in supporting the implementation of an in-house ERP solution hosted on IBM iSeries. This role will be part of a larger delivery team focused on supporting new business requirements, working closely with internal customers to understand their business processes, and providing advice and support in response to changing business needs and interfaces. The larger delivery team consists of IT PMO, Data & Analytics, and Delivery (ERP, Infrastructure, and application development).

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Technical and Functional leads regarding business requirements; assist in defining change requests and evaluating proposed solutions.
  • Develop software solutions according to defined requirements and create supporting documentation for in-house customisations.
  • Perform unit testing and system integration testing to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the RPG programs.
  • Provide escalation support as required to the ERP support team.

Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field, or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in ERP development.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with IBM iSeries, CL, RPG (including IV and Free-Format), ILE, and SQL.
  • Extensive experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, coding, code review, testing, deployment, maintenance).
  • Lifelong learner with excellent communication skills and an effective team player.
  • Understanding of ERP modules including A/R, A/P, G/L, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, and Reporting.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure and database administration.
  • Strong data analysis skills, particularly with iSeries Database files and fields.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities to investigate, research, and diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
