Keoghs LLP, one of the UK’s leading insurance law firms—dynamic, forward-thinking, and dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients—is seeking a talented and driven Claims Handler to join the Uninsured Loss Recovery (ULR) Team within the Corporate Risks division.

About the Role
You’ll take full ownership of litigated recovery claims—guiding cases from instruction through to resolution—while maximising financial recovery for clients. Alongside managing your own workload, you’ll act as a technical referral point, supporting colleagues and strengthening team capability.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing new instructions, identifying technical issues, and developing clear litigation strategies
- Managing a varied caseload, ensuring adherence to KPIs, SLAs, and court deadlines
- Conducting the full litigation process, including:
- Drafting legal documents (claim forms, directions questionnaires, witness statements)
- Issuing proceedings and monitoring court timetables
- Negotiating quantum and settlement outcomes
- Maintaining accurate case records via the firm’s case management system
- Delivering high-quality work in line with audit standards
- Serving as a peer review and sign-off point for litigation referrals
- Collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve team targets and contribute to a positive, high-performing culture

Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Experience & Skills
- Qualified solicitor
- Solid understanding of the Road Traffic Act, RTA insurers, and Article 75
- End-to-end claims handling experience from assessment through to settlement
- Experience handling litigated motor claims (including costs and schedules)
- Proven ability to draft legal proceedings and manage cases through court
- Complex or high-value claims experience
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Calm and resilient under pressure with strong attention to detail
- Confident in using case management systems and IT tools
