The team..
The Record to Report (RTR) team operates in a collaborative, fast-paced, and transformative financial environment. We act as a vital engine within ITV Finance, ensuring the highest standards of financial accuracy, internal control, and regulatory compliance. Our team embraces a digital and agile mindset, working closely with continuous improvement and business teams to streamline processes and land operational efficiencies.
The role..
We are seeking a proactive RTR Lead Divisional Accountant (LDA) for a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will report to the Head of RTR and serve as a vital link between RTR's functional transactional pillars, Group Financial Controllers and Business Finance. Your primary objective will be to safeguard divisional financial integrity within the General Ledger (GL).
Acting as a vital link between RTR, the Divisional FCs and the Divisional Finance team, this position ensures all functions are aware of each other's activities, facilitating a seamless and efficient partnership. This role brings context and divisional experience to support the RTR pillars whilst providing an experienced point of contact for Business Finance and Group.
This role is perfectly suited for a proactive problem-solver who excels in evolving environments and embraces organisational change.
Some Of Your Key Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing strong support for RTR functional pillars, bringing a clear divisional perspective across all areas of activity.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close activities, business reviews, and audit reviews, including performing a high-level monthly review of the divisional Trial Balance prior to close to drive GL integrity.
- Managing challenging or complex reconciliations and postings on a temporary basis, focusing on refining and questioning existing workflows to enhance simplicity and efficiency before standardising them into the pillars.
- Conducting deep-dive investigations to resolve unexplained balances and variances, especially where divisional experience is critical, to help clear errors and improve accuracy.
- Serving as a dedicated divisional interface between RTR and the Business Finance, FP&A, and Group Finance teams to effectively incorporate new finance activities resulting from business initiatives.
- Collaborating with FCs and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations during statutory and financial group audit activities.
- Training, supporting, and mentoring team members within the pillars while driving the team to measure and deliver defined service levels aligned with KPIs and SLAs.
- Participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for regular SaaS releases and other system developments.
- Partnering with RTR managers and Continuous Improvement (CI) to identify automation initiatives, implement best practices, and achieve sustainable operational efficiencies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
