Job Overview

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Urology team within Surgery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The role focuses on Stroke Specialist Adaptations within 18-week RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathways to ensure compliance and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

Data Validation & Compliance

  • Use advanced specialist knowledge of 18-week RTT pathways to validate surgical patient journeys, ensuring all pathway events align with national RTT standards and UHS guidelines.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct data quality issues within surgical RTT pathways, applying expertise in causes of poor data quality.
  • Review, assess, update, and validate RTT data across UHS systems, including the Patient Administration System (PAS), to maintain accurate, complete, and clinically reflective records.

Accurate Pathway Management

  • Interpret and apply complex RTT guidance to support high-quality data reporting, ensuring surgical services meet operational performance, waiting list management, and statutory compliance standards.
  • Act as an RTT champion for Surgery, providing expert advice and training to clinical and administrative teams to improve data quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Proactively support continuous improvement, addressing recurring issues and collaborating with operational teams to enhance pathway accuracy.

Team Support & Auditing

  • Work with clinical staff and operational teams to mitigate 18-week RTT breaches, ensuring patients meet treatment targets.
  • Provide 1-to-1 training, mentoring, and RTT-related guidance, acting as the key contact for pathway inquiries.
  • Audit RTT data accuracy, reporting discrepancies in structured, constructive feedback to improve data entry.
  • Assist in training new team members and covering colleagues during leave/absence to ensure workflow continuity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
