About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join Reed's innovative tech team. This is a fully remote position based in the UK, offering flexible working hours to support work-life balance. As a key member of our development team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications that meet the evolving needs of our clients and internal stakeholders. Your expertise will contribute to building secure, high-performance backend systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our digital products. Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a strong background in Ruby on Rails and TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in working with Ubuntu operating systems.
  • Experience in managing MySQL databases.
  • Experience deploying applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a remote work setting.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using Ruby on Rails and TypeScript.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and efficient backend systems to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver innovative features and enhancements.
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and improve system stability.
  • Manage and maintain MySQL databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Implement deployment strategies and scale applications effectively on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve development practices.
