About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join Reed's dynamic remote team based in the UK. This full-time role offers flexible hours, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while working on innovative projects. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications that drive business success. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with talented professionals, and contribute to impactful digital solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in full-stack development, particularly with Ruby on Rails and TypeScript. You should have a strong understanding of backend and frontend technologies, with hands-on experience working with Ubuntu, MySQL, and AWS cloud services. Familiarity with front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential. A detail-oriented mindset combined with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are crucial. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude are also highly valued.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and TypeScript to meet business requirements.
- Design and implement secure backend architectures that ensure data integrity and system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver new features and enhancements.
- Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and responsiveness across devices and platforms.
- Conduct thorough debugging and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
- Manage and maintain MySQL databases, ensuring data consistency and security.
- Deploy applications on AWS, leveraging cloud infrastructure to support scalability and high availability.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve development processes.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and contribute to a collaborative and innovative team environment.
