Senior Ruby on Rails Contractor

About the Role
Our client is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Contractor to join them on an initial 6 – 12-month contract. You will be coming onboard to work on both a greenfield and an existing project. You will need to have solid stakeholder management experience and be able to clearly articulate technical decisions.
You will need to not only be a very experienced engineer who can work both standalone and within a team environment, but you will need to have strong architecture experience/understanding.

Tech Skills
- Ruby on Rails
- RSpec or similar testing frameworks
- PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Git
- CI/CD pipelines
- React or similar
What You Will Be Doing
- Building and maintaining features across a Ruby on Rails codebase
- Working closely with the wider engineering team on architecture and technical decisions
- Writing clean, tested code and reviewing others' work
- Helping to identify and fix performance issues or technical debt
- Contributing to best practice around deployment and code quality
- Working with product and delivery to translate requirements into working software
