Job Opportunity: Ruby on Rails Senior Developer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Ruby on Rails Senior Developer based in United Kingdom.
Join a fully remote engineering team building scalable backend solutions for modern cloud-based applications. In this role, you will design and develop robust APIs, microservices, and integrations that power high-performance software systems. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers throughout the full software development lifecycle, contributing to architecture, implementation, testing, and production releases. The position is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working independently, and continuously improving their craft. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and system integrations for cloud-based platforms.
- Develop and implement microservices that improve application scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, code reviews, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Optimize database interactions and application performance while ensuring code quality and maintainability.
- Write unit tests and integration tests to support reliable and stable software releases.
- Contribute to technical discussions, architectural improvements, and continuous enhancement of engineering best practices.

Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Familiarity with scalable application architectures and microservices.
- Experience writing unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and backend development best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
