Workplace: Leeds / Location
The role:
This recruitment is for a talent pool rather than a specific vacancy. If you're successful, you'll join our pool of Runners and Location Runners who we'll consider for future opportunities on Emmerdale as they arise. Joining the talent pool doesn't guarantee an offer of work, but it means we'll be able to contact you when suitable freelance opportunities become available.
You'll play a key role in supporting the Assistant Directors to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the shoot, acting as a vital link between the set and the Production Office. In this fast-paced, collaborative role, you'll help coordinate information, keep communication flowing, and support the delivery of Emmerdale to its consistently high production standards. We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, thrives under pressure, and enjoys working as part of a team in a dynamic production environment.
SKILLS YOU’LL NEED (MINIMUM CRITERIA)
- Experience in a Runner or similar production support role, or the ability to demonstrate transferable skills gained through paid, voluntary, freelance, educational or other relevant experience.
- Experience of working in a production, broadcast, film, theatre, live events or another fast-paced Production environment, or the ability to demonstrate the skills required to work effectively in this type of setting.
- Experience using production documentation (such as call sheets, production schedules or similar operational documents).
- Experience supporting on-screen talent, performers, contributors, customers or colleagues in a professional environment, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills while maintaining professionalism, respect and confidentiality.
- Able to work flexibly in a fast-paced production environment, including studio and location filming, adapting to changing priorities and working patterns.
- Location Runner only: A full, clean manual driving licence (or equivalent arrangements as part of a reasonable adjustment where a disability has been disclosed).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
