Join a progressive forestry and tree management consultancy making a real impact across the Midlands.

At Robinson Forestry, we're passionate about delivering exceptional tree and forest management services to rural clients. Our reputation for quality, professionalism and practical advice has led to continued growth, and we're now looking for a Rural Tree Surveyor to join our expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced arboricultural professional who enjoys working in the countryside, managing their own workload, and delivering high-quality advice to a diverse range of landowners and estate clients.

The Role

You'll be responsible for carrying out professional tree risk inspections across a wide variety of rural environments, including:

  • Roadsides and highways
  • Parks, estates and other rural assets
  • Residential and commercial buildings
  • Public Rights of Way
  • Property boundaries

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Following your inspections, you'll prepare clear recommendations and help plan, specify, tender and oversee any required tree works.

Unlike many arboricultural consultancies, development surveys are not a core part of this role. Instead, you'll focus on practical tree management across rural landscapes.

For those with an interest in forestry, there will also be opportunities to become involved in woodland management, woodland creation, timber harvesting and wider estate management projects.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds relevant arboricultural qualifications, including Professional Tree Inspection (PTI).
  • Has at least three years' experience in a professional arboricultural role (preferred).
  • Is confident working independently and producing high-quality reports.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Has a genuine interest in rural land management and forestry.
