Client: Top Fintech
Our client is a highly successful technology company at the forefront of financial innovation, building the next generation of high-performance data infrastructure that underpins some of the world's most demanding financial systems. Rather than simply consuming technology, they engineer the platforms that power it—designing software where scalability, performance, and reliability are fundamental to the business.
They're now looking for an exceptional Rust Developer to join a team of world-class engineers tackling some of the most complex distributed systems and performance engineering challenges in the industry.
- You'll be working alongside engineers who have built technology at some of the world's leading technology companies, quantitative trading firms, and financial institutions.
- The culture is deeply technical, collaborative, and driven by a genuine passion for engineering excellence.
- Discussions around systems design, performance optimisation, distributed architectures, and modern programming languages are simply part of everyday life.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is an environment where engineers are trusted to own problems from concept through to production, influence architectural decisions, and work on software that has a direct impact on the success of the business.
- You'll have the opportunity to help build one of the most scalable, resilient, and performant data platforms anywhere in the industry—a platform capable of processing enormous volumes of real-time data with exceptional speed and reliability.
- Every design decision matters. Every optimisation counts. Every engineer has a voice.
Expect to work on challenges involving high-throughput distributed systems, low-latency networking, cloud-native infrastructure, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and large-scale data movement, all while writing clean, elegant Rust code that's designed to perform under extreme load.
The engineering team embraces modern development practices including automated testing, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and a strong culture of technical ownership. There's very little bureaucracy, plenty of autonomy, and an environment where good ideas win regardless of where they come from.
