Company Description
Working as a partnership, both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have a shared vision for excellence in care for our patients and communities; with a set of strategic aims underpinning how we will achieve this. The single corporate service is delivered across both organisations. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in-person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.
Job Description
This vacancy is open to employees of Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust only.
- NHS Band: 3
- Salary: £25,760 - £27,476 pro rata per annum (Actual salary £15,455 - £16,485 per annum)
- Hours Per Week: Part-time 22.5
- Contract Type: Permanent
The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing clerical, project, and administrative support to the Safeguarding Service, supporting a range of activities in relation to the organisation’s compliance with statutory requirements.
Job Summary
- Ensure effective administration of the Safeguarding Service work plans, priority plans, and adherence to National and Local safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
- Organise and roll out small-scale projects relating to the Safeguarding Team.
- Perform delegated administrative and project support services to specific individuals within the team as agreed with the Safeguarding Team.
- Carry out clerical and administrative duties including data collection and analysis, minute taking, typing, photocopying, and filing on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide support, and input into and maintain databases on an ongoing basis as directed by the SBSO and the Safeguarding Team.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of safeguarding systems within the Integrated Safeguarding Service.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ level 3 in business or administration or equivalent.
- ECDL or RSA.
Experience
- Essential
- Experience of prioritising own workload.
- Experience of data collection and reporting.
- Ability to set agendas, minute meetings to a high standard.
- Computer literate with the ability to utilise data and prepare complex reports.
