Safeguarding Consultant

Full Time / 37.50 Hours per week

Remote - Ability to travel within the UK; flexibility to work at home or from a regional office as required, with overnight stays as necessary

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Development, design, deliver and evaluate safeguarding training including face to face training, webinars and Brainshark’s to embed safeguarding knowledge.
  • Plan, conduct and summarise robust safeguarding investigations which meet the Safeguarding Threshold
  • Support managers in preparing for ASV meetings.
  • Attend relevant external safeguarding meetings such as ASV, strategy meetings etc.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as the police and LADO
  • Collaborative critical review of safeguarding incidents to strengthen organisational learning
  • Complete Safeguarding audit visits and triangulation visit which provides settings with clear learning and measurable actions.
  • Application of Coaching skills to aid DSL’s decision making
  • Completing the Safeguarding data log accurately and in full
  • Analysis of Quality data, Regulatory data and Safeguarding data to lead decision making as to where resource is dedicated

Responsible For

  • Cancellation of safeguarding training in exceptional circumstances
  • Categorise incident thresholds to determine level of investigation required
  • Providing investigation outcomes in partnership with the HR department
  • Join allocated Safeguarding Ready to Respond Calls
  • Support regional meetings with statistical data which promotes learning across the organisation
  • Attend monthly safeguarding team meeting
  • Impacting on Quality Ratings Internal and External
  • Impacting positively on regulatory outcomes associated with Safeguarding notifications
  • Complying with safeguarding team Service Level Agreements

Essential Experience

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of safeguarding legislation and requirements
  • Expert knowledge of the regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of managing ER and HR practices
  • Experience of completing complex investigations robustly

Desired Experience

  • Training qualification or experience of delivering training
  • Coaching qualification and/or experience of coaching techniques
