Location: Wymondham College

Salary: SCP 26 : 28 FTE A GBP 37,280 : A GBP 39,152 per annum. Pro:rata A GBP 23,462 : A GBP 25,081 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay

Vacancy Type: Fixed Term, Maternity Cover, 30 hours per week, term:time only, until February 2027

The College currently is one of the top State Schools in the Country and is recognised as one of the highest performing State Schools in the East of England, this is backed up by its most recent Ofsted review which rated the College as outstanding in both Education and Boarding inspections.

The College is focused on providing outstanding quality to their students and staff not only in education but also through its provision of exceptional facilities and accommodation on site across its 83:acre campus.

Wymondham College requires a strong administrator who has pastoral and safeguarding experience working with children and/or young adults to become our Safeguarding Co:Ordinator, to support the Assistant Principal and other pastoral/safeguarding staff to deliver a highly effective safeguarding service within the College.

The Professional Competencies Expected Of a Safeguarding Coordinator Are

  • Excellent administrative skills;
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and a willingness to increase this knowledge;
  • Proven experience and success working with children and/or young adults in a pastoral setting, particularly experience working with vulnerable young people;
  • Patience, tolerance and sensitivity along with a mature and non:judgemental outlook;
  • The ability to work with initiative and meet deadlines;
  • The ability to prioritise and assess emerging issues;
  • A willingness to work flexibly.

The qualifications and previous experience required for a Safeguarding Coordinator are:

  • Experience and/or training in counselling or listening skills;
  • Previous experience of working within a safeguarding team;
  • A trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (training can be provided if not);
  • Previous experience working with statutory bodies on welfare issues;
