St Andrew’s has hospitals in Birmingham and Essex, with its base in Northampton. It delivers inpatient and outpatient services, as well as dedicated care services for adults.
The role
You will be responsible for leading a team providing 24-hour oversight of quality, safety, staffing and operational response through the Clinical Operations Hub.
- You will lead operational and clinical staffing functions, delivering assurance to the Divisional Directors and the Care Director, and playing a key role in maintaining patient and staff safety through proactive escalation, workforce planning and governance.
- You will be responsible for temporary staffing management, business continuity and incident response.
- You will provide senior clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, effective, and sustainable staffing across our Northampton Hospital, supporting the operational delivery of safe and effective care on behalf of the Divisional Directors.
- You will support the Care Director with the delivery of the safer staffing strategy, including roster quality governance and establishment reviews, ensuring consistent application of safer staffing policy, robust daily staffing oversight, and effective triangulation of workforce and patient safety data to support high quality care and informed decision making.

About You
- You will bring significant senior clinical leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment.
- You will be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
- You will be able to demonstrate proven experience of safer staffing implementation, workforce governance, and operational oversight.
- You will have an excellent understanding of workforce data, roster management, and patient safety triangulation, as well as high level analytical skills with experience of performance reporting and risk management.
- You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a proven record of influencing, challenging, and providing assurance at senior leadership level.
- You will also have experience of successfully leading and managing senior clinical leaders and multi-disciplinary teams.
