You’ll collaborate with the industry’s best minds to ensure safety, quality, and compliance across one of the largest and most prestigious airline fleets in the world. Your responsibilities extend beyond BA—ensuring maintenance operations for multiple aviation partners adheres to the highest standards.
As part of Safety & Compliance Engineering, you’ll:
- Shape regulatory and safety policies through proactive engagement.
- Monitor health, safety, airworthiness, and airmanship standards.
- Conduct internal and external audits, report findings, and close non-conformities efficiently.
- Investigate incidents or accidents, identify failures at their core, and implement improvements within deadlines.
- Align BA’s growing fleet with safety standards and actively influence culture shifts for positive change.

🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ad hoc work or provide operational support as needs arise.
- Oversee health, safety, and airworthiness compliance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the Storage & Distribution department—prior experience in this area is advantageous.
- Create and maintain processes and procedures aligned with business objectives.
- Perform structured audits and drive timely resolution of non-conformities.
- Lead investigative work, identify root causes, and effect strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Analyse risk data, collaborate with stakeholders, and implement reductions.
- Lead or contribute to small teams and long-term projects that enhance operational efficiency.
- Present systemic improvements at senior engineering leadership levels.
- Champion efficiency improvements with measurable business outcomes.
- Mentor colleagues, develop skills, and ensure the team delivers on strategic goals.
- Conduct assessments of aircraft, personnel, and work environments to the industry’s standards.
🔍 What You’ll Bring
You’ll bring cutting-edge expertise alongside ambition. Key requirements:
Technical & Expertise Criteria
- IEC 66 licence (Cat B) or equivalent, plus an HNC/D qualification.
- Essential:
- Qualifications in Quality Assurance, Safety or Maintenance Engineering (e.g., NEBOSH).
- Proven investigation, audit, and aviation safety experience.
- Regulatory knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part M, and Part 21.
- Experience in warehousing/logistics, compliance checks, and healthcare/health governance systems (e.g., MLE).
- "Lead auditor" status or qualifying certification: NEBOSH, environNE, Form 4 (desirable).
