Safety & Compliance Manager
Glasgow Area

Site-Based Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Safety & Compliance Manager to join a major industrial processing and energy operation in the Glasgow area.
This is a key operational leadership role within a highly regulated environment, focused on driving a strong safety culture, maintaining environmental and compliance standards, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of a large-scale processing facility.
This is a predominantly operational, “boots on the ground” position where visible leadership, workforce engagement, and proactive safety management are essential.
The Role
Reporting directly into the Plant Leadership Team, the Safety & Compliance Manager will act as the site lead for all Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance activities across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Leading site health, safety and compliance activities across a complex operational environment
- Managing and continually improving safety systems, procedures, SSOW and risk assessments
- Supporting compliance with environmental permits, ISO standards and regulatory obligations
- Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Monitoring contractor activities and ensuring compliance during maintenance and shutdown activities
- Delivering audits, inspections and compliance reviews across the site
- Driving behavioural safety initiatives and promoting a proactive safety culture
- Delivering toolbox talks, training and workforce engagement activities
- Supporting planned outages, shutdowns and maintenance activities from a safety and compliance perspective
- Producing KPI reports, compliance data and site performance reporting
- Liaising with regulators, inspectors and internal stakeholders as required
- Working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to support safe and efficient plant performance

Applicants should demonstrate:
- Proven Health & Safety leadership within a complex operational environment
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with ISO45001 and awareness of ISO14001 / ISO9001 standards
- Experience leading investigations, audits and contractor management activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Operationally focused mindset with a visible leadership style
- NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
- Ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams
