Conventus Partnership Opportunity

Conventus have partnered with a leading Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Airports Consultancy, who is looking to hire an experienced Air Traffic Management Safety Engineer, to deliver safety engineering and assurance services across.

Working with Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), airports, ATM technology providers and aviation stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe introduction of new operational systems and technologies into complex, safety critical environments.

This position offers the opportunity to lead safety activities on high profile projects involving Air Traffic Control Centres, surveillance systems, navigation aids, communications systems, digital towers, airport operational systems and next generation ATM technologies.

Working alongside highly experienced engineers, project managers and operational specialists, helping clients manage safety throughout the full project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with UK and international aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety engineering activities across a portfolio of Air Traffic Management and Airport projects.
  • Develop and deliver equipment and system safety cases supporting operational acceptance and regulatory approval.
  • Produce high quality safety and assurance documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate Hazard Identification (HAZID) workshops and risk assessment activities with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify hazards, assess operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Develop robust safety arguments supported by appropriate evidence to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
  • Apply recognised safety engineering methodologies and techniques to complex ATM systems.
  • Work closely with operational users, systems engineers, project managers and technical specialists to integrate safety into system design.
  • Support clients through assurance, certification and operational acceptance processes.
  • Contribute to continual improvement of safety management processes and engineering best practice.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers where appropriate.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience delivering safety engineering activities within Air Traffic Management, Airports or Aviation.
  • Strong understanding of systems safety engineering principles and risk management.
  • Experience producing safety cases and safety assurance documentation.
  • Knowledge of Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard Logs and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating safety workshops and engaging with technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply aviation safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
