What’s your possible?

At Northrop Grumman UK, you are part of a team driving innovation where it matters most – solving tomorrow’s challenges and shaping the technology solutions of the future. It’s what we call Defining Possible.

This mindset goes beyond our customer solutions; it’s the foundation for your career development and the positive impact we have within the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

This is more than just a job; it’s a mission.

As a Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in assuring the safety of complex, mission‑critical systems that support the UK’s naval capability. Working within our Product Safety team, you will contribute to the design, development and ongoing support of Platform Management Systems for surface ships and submarines.

Our UK Defence business is a sovereign software and systems centre of excellence, delivering cutting‑edge solutions that form part of the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. You will work alongside multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, influencing design decisions and helping to ensure that safety is embedded throughout the system lifecycle.

This role is well suited to an engineer looking to grow their career in functional and product safety, with strong support, mentoring and development opportunities available.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
