About the Role
Pro-Pak Foods is a leading supplier of ready meals to major UK supermarkets and convenience stores, based in Malton, North Yorkshire. Over the last 25 years, we’ve built a reputation for delivering over 200 quality meals in partnership with our customers.
As SHE Coordinator, you will work closely with our Head of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) to support day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Act regulations.
Your role will include:
- Advocating best practice in health, safety, and environmental management for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
We are looking for a proactive professional with strong communication skills, IT literacy, and the ability to develop and implement health and safety systems.
Experience in conducting risk assessments and knowledge of Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (MOSH)_, Adequate Risk Prevention_ (ARP)_, and Reporting of Accidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) is essential.

An ideally qualified candidate will hold a NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and have prior experience in health and safety roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote awareness of health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Support the company in maintaining a safe, low-risk working environment.
- Ensure safe plant, machinery, storage, and use of substances.
- Conduct and review risk assessments, implementing identified control measures.
- Manage and review emergency procedures, first aid, safety signs, and PPE.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety practices and report gaps.
- Perform weekly departmental checks and monthly site audits.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety-related events.
- Consult and communicate with employees on health and safety matters.
- Provide support for health, safety, and environmental initiatives.

Requirements
- Proven health and safety experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent competence preferred).
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Sound IT literacy skills and proficiency in risk assessment tools.
- Problem-solving mindset and commitment to best practice.
