SHEQ Advisor

Location: Omagh, covering the whole island of Ireland, approx. 50% office, 50% site based.

Anderson McQue is partnering with a well-established civil engineering contractor firm to recruit an experienced Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Advisor.

Main Duties

  • Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, rules and regulations are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; compile reports and ensure compliance is consistently maintained.
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are documented, investigated and the recommended improvements are implemented.
  • Ensure that employees, contractors, and site visitors receive site induction.
  • Plan and coordinate SHEQ related training for employees.
  • Maintain and update all relevant SHEQ Department administration.
  • Assist in developing all the required documentation for the SHEQ Management System in compliance with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar Health and Safety role – knowledge of Rail works and or Windfarm works would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • NEBOSH (or equivalent) Qualification Certificate – minimum held for at least 2 years.
  • Environmental and Quality qualification is advantageous.
  • Exposure to and understanding of implementation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills.
  • Well-developed organisation / planning skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills, provides solutions.
  • Sound IT skills and strong experience including Microsoft packages.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home on project-by-project basis across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
  • Must have the right to work in UK and Republic of Ireland.
  • A valid driving licence is essential for travel to site locations.
