Safety Manager

About The Role

Location: Aztec West, Bristol

Salary: £75,000- £85,000

Grade: C

Ready to lead nuclear safety activities that will help shape the future of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects? Keen to work at the heart of technical decision-making, influencing stakeholders across multiple organisations while supporting the delivery of new nuclear generation? At EDF, Success is Personal – and your career journey is yours to shape.

The Opportunity

As a Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and overseeing nuclear safety activities for the Sizewell C Project, helping to support the transition towards An Electric Britain. Working within the Technical Directorate, you’ll provide leadership across a broad range of safety disciplines, ensuring technical activities are delivered effectively while maintaining high standards of nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.

EDF EPR Engineering UK delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design-replication feasibility and related engineering activities.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role is based at Aztec West in Bristol, where you’ll work closely with stakeholders across EDF EPR Engineering UK, the Sizewell C client organisation, and specialist nuclear safety teams.

Working within the Nuclear Safety Team, you’ll oversee the delivery of complex safety activities, influence technical strategy, and support the replication of proven nuclear designs from Hinkley Point C to Sizewell C. You’ll broaden your leadership capability while collaborating with senior technical experts, managing key risks and opportunities, and contributing to the delivery of a major low-carbon infrastructure programme.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
